Scene 8: The Day of Resurrection and Judgement

In Scene Eight the group, led by Leon Moscona, will aim to activate one of the most dramatic and enigmatic visions of St. John in the Apocalypse – the Resurrection of the Dead and the Final Judgment (Chapter 20:11-15). It is important to note that immediately after these apocalyptic events St John saw the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth and the New Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God:

Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more. And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. Then the sea gave up its dead. Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. And all were judged according to what they had done. Then death and the world of the dead were thrown into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.) Whoever did not have his name written in the book of the living was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20: 11-15)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished. And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband. (Revelation 21:1-2)

The action in this Scene will take place on the Lake Summit. It is called the Lake Summit because from there one could see a majestic panorama of the whole mountain environment including all seven lakes.

According to the prophesies in the world religions we are now approaching the end of the Hindu-European cycle of human history and the beginning of the New evolutionary cycle of humankind in the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth. The essence of this New Cycle is life in accordance with Divine Love, Light, Wisdom and Truth. Only the souls who will be able to live in accordance with these principles will enter into the new cycle. The undeveloped human beings will be forced to start the evolutionary process again.

The end of the Hindu-European cycle and the beginning of the new cycle is the time of spiritual Resurrection and Judgment. This is why St. John saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.

Then St John saw that the sea gave up its dead, Death and the world of the dead also gave up the dead they held. This means that the souls in all planes of Creation will be judged from the perspective of the new cycle of evolution in the reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth. The sea and the dead in it symbolizes the life of contemporary human beings living in the "cosmic illusion" – maya. The dead in the world of the dead are the physically dead from the past generations who still did not awaken their souls. And as St. John witnessed all were judged according to what they had done.

Of course, on the Day of Resurrection and Judgment the dead who practiced evil and severed consciously the link with their own souls will stop their evolutionary process. This is their second death: the first 'death' is leaving the physical body, while the second death is cutting off the link with a person's own soul. In the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth the death and the world of the dead will be thrown into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.) Whoever did not have his name written in the book of the living will be thrown into the lake of fire. All others will be resurrected by the Lord and helped to enter into the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth.

To witness and to participate in this process of resurrection is the ultimate purpose of Scene 8, The Day of Resurrection and Judgment. The content of the Scene will be a guided prayer-meditation by Leon Moscona in the format of a 'Solemn Requiem Mass'. The main parts of a Requiem mass are Credo, Sanctus, Dies Irae, Agnus Dei, Benedictus,Hosanna and Gloria. In our'Solemn Requiem Mass' these parts will receive a new meaning in accordance with the interpretation of the Day of Resurrection and Judgment in the Apocalypse.

Credo. In Credo Leon Moscona will link with the ultimate Truth about God, Creation and the Human Bering made in the image and likeness of God. There is nothing else except the One Who Is. God is the Sole Being, the Absolute, the Creator, Allah, the Great Void, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega, the Principal Cause, the Source of Life, the Revealed and Unrevealed, the All in All. The whole of Creation is an ocean of love, light and life within the Absolute Mind. The Human Being was made in the image and likeness of God in order to embrace the whole of Creation and to co-create with God.

As St. John witnessed, the New Reality comes into existence through the apocalyptic creative (demiurgic) act of God:

Then the one who sits on the throne said, 'And now I make all things new!’. 'It is done! I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end'. (Revelation 21: 5-6)

This process could be compared to a great spiritual 'big bang' which changes the metaphysics of the world. The physical 'big bang' gave birth to the material universe; the new spiritual 'big bang' ignited by God gives birth to the reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth. It is a 'New Genesis' in which life in the whole Universe takes a new direction.

In Credo we will aim to feel the presence of the Lord God Almighty and to experience the New creative act coming from the Living God. The sacred words, which could sound here are: Our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory, honour and power. For you created all things and by your will they were given existence and life. (Revelation 4:11)

Leon Moscona will include in this part of the guided prayer-meditation the inspiring music from Missa Solemnis by Beethoven (Credo). Meanwhile, the camera could focus on the participants and on the majestic area of the Seven Lakes. Altogether this part of the guided meditation could become an emotional, expressive and mystical introduction to the glorious event of the re-creation of the world. At the same time it will lead to the mystery of Sanctus.

Sanctus. The new apocalyptic, creative act of God ignites the essence of the Holy Trinity. If we imagine God, the Creator, manifested by the Holy Trinity (corresponding to the three highest Sefiroth in the Kabbalah - Kether, Hokmah and Binah or to OM TAT SAT in the Hindu tradition) as an immense cosmic-spiritual Sun beyond time, space and matter, we can compare the new act of 'Genesis' with the explosion of a supernova. This act radiates blazing light all over the Universe and re-shapes Creation in a new way. This is why St. John saw a great white throne and the one who sits on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence and were seen no more. This act also ignites the event of the Second Coming (or the New Coming) of the Divine Masters. The purpose of this part of our prayer-meditation is to "dissolve" in the dazzling light of the spiritual supernova and to experience the demiurgic light coming from the Holy Trinity!

In Sanctus we could continue with the inspiring music from Missa Solemnis by Beethoven (or Bach – Sanctus from Mesa B Minor) and the scenic panorama of the Seven Lakes (perhaps with some subtle special effects, connected with expressive colour photos of the Universe). The sacred words from the Book of Revelation, which could sound in the prayer-meditation will be Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is and who is to come (4:8). Then Leon Moscona will lead the group into the apocalyptic event of the Day of Resurrection and Judgement - Dies Irae.

Dies Irae (Day of Judgment). The Day of Resurrection and Judgment, which will happen at the end of the present metahistorical cycle, will determine the positive or negative outcome in the development of individual human beings and cultures. In this section of the prayer-meditation the purpose will be to anticipate and contemplate this staggering apocalyptic event in great compassion, solemnity, awe, sacredness and mystery.

The musical track could include Dies Irae from the Requiem by Berlioz. (Or Dies Irae from the Requiem by Verdi) This Requiem is a monumental peace of musical art in which more than 500 musicians participate. In Dies Irae Berlioz specially introduced four brass orchestras, which could sound apocalyptic. One could imagine the mystical power of this moment when the whole valley beneath the Lake Summit is filled with this avalanche of sounds. As to the video track, it could include some of the greatest paintings in the Art history –The Final Judgement by Michelangelo, and others. Obviously this Scene could be one of the most dramatic and spectacular scenes in the film.

Agnus Dei (The Lamb of God). In our prayer-ceremonywe will pray to Agnus Dei(the Lamb of God), this time appreciated as the Cosmic Christ, the One Who sits on the Throne. A fundamental archetype in Chapter 5 of the Apocalypse is the Lamb as the One Who was able to open the Scroll "sealed" with seven seals". (Revelation, Chapter 5:6-14) This Scroll contains the records of all human history on Earth. Everyone whose name is written in the Book of the Living will be resurrected and saved. Moreover, the power of the Cosmic Christ could bless even the sinful beings with salvation and liberation.

In Scene Seven we prayed to receive the Divine Blessings of the Cosmic Christ. Now we will pray for all human souls to receive them. The name of the One who sits on the Throne of God in the other traditions is different - Metatron, Buddha, Krishna, or Muhammad, but the essence is always the same: He is the One Who brings salvation, liberation and enlightenment! In comparison with the 'fearful' energies of Dies Irae, the soft vibrations of Agnus Dei bring love, tenderness and blessings to the souls on this apocalyptic Day of Resurrection and Judgement.

In the Requiems, written by the great composers there are inspiring parts called Agnus Dei. We could 'orchestrate' our prayer-ceremony with one of them, for instance, Agnus Dei from Missa Solemnis by Beethoven, or Agnus Dei from the Requiem by Mozart. In a similar way we could find very inspiring paintings by the great artists as well.

Benedictus (Blessing). This section ofour prayer-meditation could develop into a subtle ritual-ceremony of calling to the dead people to rise and enter into the new reality. It could be an invocation of the Cosmic Christ energy and addressing the souls. The ‘dead’ people are all human personalities living in their egos. They have to awaken their souls in order to enter into the New Reality.

With our prayers and invocations we could participate in this apocalyptic process and help the human beings to achieve the resurrection from the dead. For this purpose we have to link with them, radiating Love, Light, Wisdom and Truth and imagine how they respond and begin to radiate themselves - from ego-personality shadows they become radiating souls. At this moment the metaphysics of the space changes and we enter into the ocean of the Universal Soul. This is the first raising of the dead – the blossoming of the human soul. These souls will be able to awaken their Divine Self and to enter into the Heavenly Jerusalem, the world of the Universal Spirit. Only beings with blossoming souls and awakened spirits will be able to live in the new reality. These people will form the core of the New Humankind – God's people living on sacred Earth.

(Music: Benedictus – Bach, Mesa B Minor)

Hosanna (Praise God). The resurrected souls will be ready to enterinto the New Jerusalem. Exactly after the Day of Resurrection St. John saw the New Heaven and the New Earth: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished. And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband.

In the Gospels Hosanna was sung when Jesus Christ entered triumphantly into Jerusalem. Now we will sing Hosanna because the time has come for the participants in the journey and all the living souls to enter into the Heavenly Jerusalem, the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth. This entry will be the most inspiring event in our lives and this is why we ourselves will say Hosanna - Praise to the Lord! As in the past, when Moses led the Hebrew people to the Promised Land and finally they saw it, now the reality of the Heavenly Jerusalem lies before us and we could enter in it, becoming citizens of the Holy City forever.

Scene Eight could finish as it started - with the glorious music from Missa Solemnis by Beethoven (Gloria), (or Bach – Hosanna from Mesa B Minor) The video track may show the inspired faces of the participants in the Scene and other appropriate pictures (photos, videos) of people in joy, happiness and ecstasy.

After the spiritual entry into the New Jerusalem we could proceed to the final Scene Nine of our film The Divine Blessings of the Apocalypse – experiencing the Reality of the New Heaven and the New Earth.
